Maryland Masonic Homes, a premier Continuing Care retirement Community (CCRC) nestled in the rolling hills of Hunt Valley, has an exciting opportunity for a Restorative GNA.

Maryland Masonic Homes first opened in 1934, and the community was an infirmary and dormitory for Master Masons and their families. Today, Maryland Masonic Homes is a Continuing Care Retirement Community available to the public with 31 Independent Living units, 70 Assisted Living units, and 88 healthcare beds.

The Restorative GNA will be an integral part of creating and maintaining a restorative care program to assist residents with regaining and maintaining physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Essential Duties/Major Accountabilities:

  • Responsible to create, evaluate and lead the MMH restorative program and work closely with Rehab department resident care plans and staff education.
  • Assist the nursing team with wound rounds as necessary
  • Works closely with other disciplines to assure residents maintain or improve current level of function for grooming, dressing, bathing, mobility and feeding.
  • Provides direct hands on nursing care to residents and reports any changes to Nurse Supervisor as appropriate.
  • Assists in carrying out restorative program which has been recommended to include bowel/bladder training, exercise program and other specific programs identified.
  • Works closely with Rehab Department and follows restorative program as directed by therapist. Works with Rehab Department on d
  • Seeks direction from therapist when restorative program cannot be performed due to resident lack of participation or inability to participate.
  • Assists residents as assigned to promote independence in all aspects of ADL’s; and is accountable for all care assigned during scheduled shift.
  • Demonstrates proper body mechanics utilizing safe transfer techniques.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of emergency preparedness manual.
  • Maintains all aspects of Infection Control while in the facility.
  • May function as a GNA as necessary
  • Maintains residents’ privacy and confidentiality.

Minimum Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required

Active MD GNA license is required

Experience as PTA or restorative GNA is required.

Min 2 years of experience in a long-term care setting as a GNA

Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment used in a SNF is strongly preferred

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent organizational skills. Must be detail oriented

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, resident, vendors and families.

Knowledge of Infection Control protocols is highly desired

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality

MMH requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless the Company approves a request for a medical or religious exemption. New hires must have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination prior to their start date and must complete the full vaccination regimen, including a booster shot, within the timeframes recommended by the CDC.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
