Job description
The Residential Counselor II/Cook works to assure that the youth in residential program is provided quality food/food services/nutrition according to agency policy and all applicable state and federal, OMH regulations. This includes participation in the childcare schedule and calendar and ensuring the continuity and quality of food/snacks/nutrition to the residents. The Residential Counselor II/Cook is responsible for assisting in the development of the monthly meal menu, assuring it is nutritionist approved, shopping for all supplies needed to prepare the meals/snacks. The Residential Counselor II/Cook will prepare the daily meals for the week, pre-prepare the meals for the weekend, and deliver to the program. This position participates in the youth treatment plans, and daily living and care, and oversees any nutrition/medical/allergy concerns within the programs. Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record in accordance with agency standards.
1-3 years experience working with children and families and 2-4 years experience preparing meals/food for groups of people (10 or more).
