Job Description Summary:
Department of Cancer Biology, KUMC is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to work in the laboratory of Dr. Kalyani Pyaram ( https://kalyanipyaram.wixsite.com/kumc ). This project involves identifying the metabolic factors shaping the adaptive immune responses using molecular biology, immunology, cell culture techniques and animal models.

Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated research experience

Ability to understand and apply primary literature

Familiarity with standard molecular biology techniques and/or immunological methods

Experience in mice handling, and/or research

Experience and/or working knowledge of Flow cytometry.

Job Duties Outlined:
This individual will work closely with the PI and will be involved in performing and publishing research as well as maintenance of laboratory.
Assist with conducting research.
Assist with lab maintenance by ordering supplies and general laboratory maintenance.
Maintenance of mouse colonies and/or other animals for research purposes, requires willingness to work with animals.
Perform research with a diverse research group, encompassing undergraduate/graduate trainees and research staff.
Participate in regular communication with the PIs via lab meetings and personal meetings, so excellent interpersonal, team and organizational skills
Follow established quality control and quality assurance policies and procedures, including appropriate documentation.
