Research Navigator
Summary
Seeking a motivated individual with a background in the biological sciences to join a highly effective team of Research Navigators at the Maine Health Institute for Research. Duties include assisting investigators at all levels in the development and implementation of research studies from conceptualization and study design to dissemination of research results, educating and training junior investigators, and helping to maintain the effective, safe flow of research. The individual will participate in individualized educational activities and in the development and implementation of scholarly activity related to research. They will also assist in the development and implementation of the Research Design Studio program. The successful candidate will be a highly effective communicator and critical thinker, with excellent verbal and written skills, a strong background in the biological sciences and experience in doing research in health care settings.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Education: Master’s in relevant field (PhD preferred) and 2-3 years experience in relevant field.
- License/Certification: N/A
- Experience: 2 3 years experience in relevant field
- Ability to educate learners in all aspects of research
- Extensive knowledge of statistical principles and methods, and proficiency with computers, databases and computer based analysis packages for research (SAS, SPSS preferred)
- Ability to function independently, and facilitate projects through all phases of development and implementation
