The College of Osteopathic Medicine at NYTech seeks a Research Associate located at the Long Island, NY (Old Westbury) campus.

The NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) has vibrant and rapidly growing research programs with strengths in neuroscience, cardiology, nephrology, cancer biology, and evolutionary and comparative anatomy, with state of the art equipment and facilities. There are many student mentoring opportunities including the DO/PhD program. The COM has campuses in Long Island NY (Old Westbury) and in Jonesboro Arkansas. Tranquility and natural beauty. Responsibilities:


Manage individual laboratory experiments as agreed upon and approved by the supervising professor. This includes implementing the experimental design, data collection, statistical analysis.


Train and oversee research data collection by students, lab technicians, and possibly other research associates.


Assist with grant proposals.


Attend and present at seminars/journal clubs.


Qualifications:


A Master’s in the Biomedical field is required, as well as experience in basic biomedical research.


General knowledge of molecular biology and cell biology.


Prior experience in a biomedical laboratory as well as a background in neuroscience is a required.


Must have ability to Ability to search and analyze literature, formulate hypotheses, design experiments, implement experiments, analyze data, and prepare publications.

Excellent analytical, problem solving skills and communication skills are required.

Minimum Salary: USD $50,000.00/Yr. Maximum Salary: USD $55,000.00/Yr.
