Overview:
AIR is currently seeking a Research Assistant to join AIR’s Health Division.

Candidates hired for the position might initially start working remotely but will eventually have the option to work from one of our U.S. office locations or continue to work remotely based in the U.S.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for the position include:
  • Conduct literature reviews to support projects and proposals
  • Assist staff in the review, identification and development of scholarly information describing research findings
  • Support research teams in project management activities such as preparing meeting materials, and project deliverables, supporting scheduling of tasks, meetings, and other activities, coordinating team collaboration and timely accomplishment of project work.
  • Participate in the collection, analysis, and review of research and evaluation data
  • Develop spreadsheets and databases to support project activities
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative research data and contribute to the reporting and interpretation of findings
  • Foster an environment that embraces diverse perspectives, abilities, racial/ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, gender identities and expressions, educational experiences, and life stories
Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, health policy, public health, public policy, or other health or social science related field
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of data collection and analysis methodologies and techniques, such as survey design, analysis of program administrative data, and conduct of structured interviews, observations, and focus groups
  • Experience with or inclination to learn and use statistical software programs such as R, SPSS, or Stata to analyze data – a plus not required

Skills:

  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writing
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite or the equivalent (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software)
  • Comfortable working independently and as a member of a team with individuals from diverse background
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical material succinctly and accurately using plain language
