Central Coast Veterinary Services is looking to add to their team! CCVS has developed a unique and accommodating niche in veterinary medicine, where the veterinarian comes to the patient. Professional services equal a brick and mortar clinic, but altered to accommodate a stress free experience for both the patient and the client.


Imagine a lovely road trip through the wine country of Paso Robles or ocean drive through scenic Morro Bay, but helping animals all along the way! Our newly hired RVT will have the unique experience of assisting one of the two owners/DVMs during house calls 2-3 days/week, providing assistance during procedures 1-2 days/week, and performing house technician calls with their very own assistant 1-2 days/week.


We typically take appointments from 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Preparation and clean up before and after appointments may run 30 minutes to 1 hour before or after appointments, maximum. The RVT work week will regularly be 4 days, but may include a 5 day work week depending on the schedule. We do not expect over 40 hours/week. Compensations are dependent upon experience. Vacation and sick days included.


Essential duties and responsibilities include:

Scheduling appointments and procedures via phone, online and text.

Performing and maintaining anesthesia for routine procedures and dentals

Filling prescriptions.

Educating clients.

Maintaining and preparing the hospital for procedures.

Preparing vehicles for appointments.

Processing payment transactions.

Maintaining equipment in working order.

Maintaining proper documentation in the electronic medical record.

May include maintaining inventory and an inventory control system.

Maintaining drug logs.

Insuring all hospital procedures are in compliance with regulations, including implementing safety and security procedures. Administer safety training.

Training support staff.


Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Accreditation and good standing as an RVT in California

Minimum 2 years experience in a veterinary setting, preferably small animal

Be able to safely lift 30 pounds.

Promote continuous quality improvement.

Know the meaning of and spell commonly used veterinary terms.

Other:

Candidate must be able to perform duties remotely and onsite.

Candidate may need to travel pick up or drop off samples, patients, or medications.

Candidate may be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.

Candidate must possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, follow-through and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Multi- tasking and accepting constructive criticism is essential. Punctuality is expected.
