Position Summary
Summary:
The professional registered nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for unit specific nursing care that provides Covid-19 testing. Consideration is given to date of surgery and meets the required timing of the Covid-19 test that is in accordance with MSSN policy as well as assist employee health services in testing employees who may require testing for Covid-19. The professional registered nurse is responsible for collaborating with various departments including Laboratory, Employee Health, Pre-surgical testing, and provider offices.
Qualifications
Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (BSN is preferred)
- Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing)Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
Experience And Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Clinical experience/skills relevant to the assigned area of practice
- Computer proficiency
License/Certifications
- Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) OR current valid limited permit authorizing practice as a Graduate Nurse (GN)
- Certifications required for assigned area of practice: BLS
