The Regional Payroll/HR Specialist must be an advocate for all aspects of the employment life cycle and demonstrate a commitment to serving others. In this role, the Regional PHR Specialist will be responsible for duties that are broad, varied, and often complex and confidential. Independent judgment, critical thinking, partnership and collaboration, initiative, and decision-making abilities are required. This position requires travel to 13-15 healthcare facilities across New Mexico.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Traveling required to support, enforce, and audit Payroll and HR company processes; to train new and existing Payroll/HR Coordinators with departmental tasks, projects, and initiatives; to assist and support during state visits such as surveys, complaint visits, etc.; to fulfill vacancies; to assist HR Manager and/or VP of HR in employee relations and/or performance management efforts; and more.
  • Conducts audits and assists in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of the healthcare facility's P/HR Coordinator.
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and information regarding Payroll and Human Resources issues and activities to RDOs, Administrators, P/HR Coordinators, and company personnel.
  • Responsible for leading Recruitment and Retention efforts.
  • Ensures a consistent application of payroll and human resources policies, procedures, and practices within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • In the case of vacancy, may temporarily fulfill the position until vacancy is filled and trained.
  • Represent the company and the operations during new acquisitions and/or divestitures of healthcare facilities.
  • Perform other duties, special assignments, and projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school education and related experience, are required.
  • Payroll and/or Human Resources certification or degree, preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail; ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with little supervision, taking initiative in tasks that need to be done.
  • Ability to work with a high level of integrity, using discretion with sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Able to operate various office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, printers, fax machines, etc., and software applications such as Microsoft Suite applications, etc.
  • Ability to travel 75%+ of the time within the state of New Mexico.
