General Summary: A non-exempt, clerical position responsible for obtaining approvals for procedures and consults in a clinical setting.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with referral sources to gather information necessary for referral approval
• Communicate with payors to obtain approvals for procedures and consults
• Utilize an Electronic Medical Record to communicate referral status and schedule patient clinic and procedure visits
• Communicating procedure instructions with patients, and medical necessity with payors
• Other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.

Experience: 2 + years’ experience in procedure scheduling, clinic scheduling, or obtaining 3rd party payor approvals. Prior experience with use of Electronic Medical Record, Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
