Located on a 94-acre working horse farm in Ellenboro, NC, Foothills at Red Oak Recovery serves 14-year-old to 17-year-old male adolescents and their families. Recovery Guides teach a wide variety of coping strategies and emotional regulation skills to our clients, empower clients to take responsibility for their actions, promote and encourage clients to make healthy decisions and positively motivate clients by modeling healthy behavior.

Here are some things you will do:

• Work as part of an integrative treatment team implementing compassionate clinical care
• Facilitate therapeutic interventions, process groups, mindfulness sessions and educational groups
• Help clients navigate an interactive schedule which includes education, sports and outdoor activities
• Accompany clients on single day adventure activities
• Provide a high level of physical and emotional safety to our clients

Qualifications you will need to have:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be willing to work 7 ½ consecutive days on shift followed by 6 ½ days off
• Must have a High School diploma (or equivalent)
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills
• Must either have a current Adult CPR/Basic First Aid/AED certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification or be willing to complete Red Oak’s provided training. Wilderness First Responder or higher medical certification? Even better!
