JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: Receiving Associate
SALARY OR WAGE RANGE: $16.00 - $20.00, Depends on Experience and Position
FLSA: Hourly
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoor and Outdoor / non-operating hours
A. PURPOSE
The primary responsibilities of the Receiving Associate are to ensure the efficient flow, tracking, and accuracy of all inventories, in and out of the store. This includes all deliveries and all related processes and paperwork. Retail Associates reviews all merchandise/ products are received, shipped, stocked and inventoried accurately in accordance with Company standards.
B. JOB DUTIES
Unload and load trucks in safe manner including operating equipment to unload and load
Process special orders according to store policy upon delivery
Establish and maintain strict organization standards in the receiving area
Maintain organized and accurate files for all paperwork related to the receiving area
Ensure accuracy of all in-bound shipments by reconciling contents against the shipping invoice
Receive and sort all merchandise shipments
Resolves PO and vendor quantity issues
Process returns of any defective or incorrect products
Process all damage claims according to store policy and maintain related paperwork
Follow up on all damage claims and returns to the Retail Support Center in a timely manner
Collaboration with sales floor associates for proper delivery of merchandise
Keeps the receiving staff safe and accident free with adequate training and safety measures
Oversee and responsible for following procedures for store transfers, customer deliveries and the maintenance of the delivery vehicles
Merchandise assembly for displays, deliveries, and/or other requests
May assist with other positions within the store when needed
Other duties assigned by the GM
C. QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
Knowledge of products trends along with a willingness to learn
Experience in a retail environment
Strong organizational skill
Knowledgeable of store policies and procedures
Ability to communicate, relate well, and direct the work of others
Ability to solve problems, work independently, and check accuracy
Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus
Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
Purchase order handling and resolution
Knowledge of OSHA rules for safety
D. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Climb stairs and ladders using proper safety measures
Lifting up to 80 lbs.
Bending, Stooping, Twisting, and Reaching
Standing for lengthy periods of time (up to 10 hours or more)
Operate heavy machinery as needed
Use of hands for computer use
E. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor facility where with moderate noise and temperature levels.
Ability to work fluctuating and flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
Ability to work other positions as needed to fill business needs and cover shifts for other employee
Follow all COVID-19 protocols as directed by management and local ordinances including wearing of masks and gloves at all time
