We are seeking a Quality Technician Class A to become an integral part of our team!

The Quality Technician inspects, verifies, and confirms product compliance, monitors, and develops inspection processes, directs the use of inspection and testing equipment for proper inspection techniques and applications and provides technical support to the organization,

Responsibilities:

  • Performs detailed inspections on basic and intricate components, parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and materials to verify they conform to military, aerospace, industry and customer requirements, specifications, and standards
  • Proficient in the utilization of inspection measuring instruments, maintaining records of part inspections
  • Reviews and interpret drawings, process procedures, test procedures, and quality documents to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products
  • Lead Technician for First Article Inspections, Product Verification and Test, and Product Lot Testing requirement
  • Review first article and first article testing reports to assure acceptance by government (DCMA) other government agencies and aftermarket customers
  • Inspect and submit product to be source inspected by DCMA, other government agencies and aftermarket customers
  • Ensures product meets the organizations and customers quality and product integrity requirements
  • Supports operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process
  • Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and supports implementation of corrective measures
  • Develop, write, and implement quality procedures in support of the quality policies and directives
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects
  • Supports technicians in the set up and operation of the quality inspection center inspection equipment
  • Assists in identifying improvement opportunities and Designing / Leading Lean-Six Sigma improvement events as assigned
  • Maintain expert / professional level of communication both internal to the organization as well as externally to customers and suppliers
  • Utilization of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing concepts for inspections and ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to practical problems
  • Identify and apply reference material (material tables, sampling plans, etc.) IAW ASTM, ASME, MILSPEC and ANSI standards and make sound decisions resulting from the information available
  • Utilizes CMM, comparator and precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to measure product dimensions and confirm compliance to specifications and standards
  • Maintains NIST compliant calibration system by updating files, coordinating outside calibration services, and performing in-house calibration of selected measurement equipment
  • Identifies and documents defects to facilitate final product disposition in an efficient timely manner, up to and including material review board reviews as an MRB member
  • Inspects and tests parts, subassemblies and assemblies after rework, modifications, and repairs to verify defects have been corrected
  • Conduct quality audits to confirm processes are being accurately completed

Qualifications (desired skills):

  • ISO/AS Auditor Certification
  • ASQ Certification
  • Bachelor’s/ Technical Degree or related Discipline
  • Five plus years working experience in an aerospace / similar inspection environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of FAR, DFARS, DLA, DCMA regulations and clauses
