Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for a Quality Control Technician at its Poly-ISO Insulation facility located in Terrell, TX location.
This position verifies suitability of all finished goods. Tasks include testing of finished product during and after production.
Work Schedule is Tuesday – Saturday; Shift Hours: Tuesday through Thursday 6:30pm - 4:30am, Friday and Saturday 4:30pm - 4:30am; during the training process, hours and days may flucatuate.

Hourly wage to start is $21.48 and will increase to $26.93 per hour after the Quality Certification is completed and passed (generally within 90-days).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform various test on product sample according to the Quality Manual such as:
• Foam reactivity and density test
• Facer sampling
• Viscosity
• Foam core density
• Compressive Strength
• Dimensional stability
• Cold box
• Facer Peel (adhesion)
• Attribute for aesthetics
• K-Factor
• Input data into the quality assurance database
• Perform random warehouse audits or units
• Maintain good housekeeping and workplace organization (5S/Lean Manufacturing)
• Safe and proper disposal of waste chemical
• Daily operate forklift
• Daily use of bandsaw and chop saws to cut product to sample size
• Assist in training of new team members

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer experience (type, read emails etc.)
• Ability to follow instructions and read production orders
• Ability to read measuring gauges such as a tape measure to the 1/16, calipers to the ten thousandth
• Forklift experience a plus
• Time management skills
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Working 50-60 hours weekly (10 to 12-hour shifts)
• Ability to complete assigned tasks on time

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Combined sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day to accomplish tasks
• Occasional lifting to 50 pounds
• Reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching, or stooping on a frequent basis
• Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to use computer for extended periods of time

WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position is in a warehouse-type facility subject to ambient and outside temperatures, exposure to nuisance dust, fiberglass, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, and pinch points.
