Job description
The Learning Tree is a nonprofit organization that has been providing Behavior Analytic services for almost 40 years. The Learning Tree serves more than 600 children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout the state of Alabama with four regional campuses and operates seven different programs! Services within these programs include residential and educational services, outpatient clinics, and public-school consultation services.
Children and adolescents in our educational and residential programs receive 24-hour, around the clock care. The disabilities of the children we serve range from nonverbal, lack of behavioral and emotional control, to those on the Autism spectrum. Quality Monitors are there to monitor and ensure that the programs that we operate meet all standards and criteria, as well as be an advocate for the residents, parents, and agencies, so our residents receive individualized education and care suited to their unique and specific needs in a nurturing, supportive environment using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Ensuring standards and guidelines are upheld and maintained in accordance to agency standards including (but not limited to) general safety of staff, clients, and facilities, quality of environment and care, availability of necessities
- Training staff as directed to make sure staff are aware of agency guidelines and standards, so that our clients can receive the best care possible in a safe environment
- Ensure safety drills and training are being conducted as needed
- Liaison between parents and family, statewide agencies, and the clients; understanding the needs of all parties involved in residential care
- Communicate needs of clients, family/parents, and statewide agencies to The Learning Tree Staff, management, and nursing departments as directed
- Participates in site reviews and monitoring required by agency monitors to confirm The Learning Tree is compliance with contracting agencies
- Interaction and communication with Social Security Administration as needed
- Participates in client-related investigations and prepares/disseminates reports, reports to Service Coordinator
- General administrative tasks that include resident documentation upkeep and filing, data entry, and office organization and document management
- Participates in crisis management procedures (PCM), to include, but not limited to: lifting and lowering individuals to and from the floor, standing from kneeling position and dropping down to kneeling position while physically controlling and individual, blocking attempted blows and bites, transporting individuals in crisis state, and deflecting blows from thrown objects
Education, Work, and/or Other Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Work, Developmental Disabilities (or closely related field) OR high school diploma with 5 years experience in service delivery to developmentally disabled community
- Good driving record required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.22 - $16.82 per hour
