The Quality department is responsible for meeting customer requirements, preventing and resolving problems by using data and other resources within the facility. We are looking for people who are passionate about their career, enjoy partnering with others and have a pioneering spirit/attitude.
Job Description:
Work directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs: Ford, GM, Stellantis, Cummins, etc.) often on a daily basis.
Collaborate in the development and launch of new world class products and processes.
Partner with different cultures and countries around the world to find the best solutions to solving problems and making improvements to parts and processes.
Implement changes related to process, components and product design improvements.
Solve and prevent problems related to process design, product design and software by utilizing advanced data gathering software, techniques and tools to solve complex issues and truly understand root causes.
Improve overall line yields, reduce scrap costs while improving quality through innovation and new technologies.
Create and document VT Lean (continuous improvement) projects to improve quality, reduce costs and non-value added work.
Work with the Customer teams and Vitesco Design teams on new technologies and advancements in the automotive industry (e.g. Electric Vehicle systems)
Develop audit plans, process routings, mistake-proofing and controls to prevent defects from being made or shipped.
Early career growth opportunity: Supervise Inspectors, Product Line Analyzers and others within your assigned customer or manufacturing area.
Teach, train and coach line workers and others on proper techniques, quality initiatives and opportunities for improvement.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field.
Solid Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, Teams).
Available and willing to assist and support after hours equipment and process issues remotely or, if needed, in person.
Strong ability to take complex problems and break them down into assignable actions that can be prioritized and understood by Management.
Ability to work with different cultures, work styles and levels of motivation.
Language skills: English (mandatory), Spanish (preferred)
Preferred Requirements:
Manufacturing experience > 6 months
Mechanical aptitude
Experience/knowledge on problem solving techniques/tools
Experience/knowledge on some Quality core tools (FMEA, MSA)
