Job description
Position Summary:
Conducts investigative work to solve quality deviation problems in the injection molding process and is responsible for the development and maintenance of quality assurance functions, procedures and training. This includes developing inspection methods, instruments and procedures, designing test equipment, overseeing critical testing and inspection procedures as well as document creation & control, and resolving both internal/external non-conformances.
Responsibilities:
- Promote Operational Excellence and 6S initiatives by maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Support the QMS system but ensuring compliance with applicable regulations through proper documentation and recordkeeping.
- Follow all QS/ISO requirements for working in a clean room.
- Promote, support and participate in idea creation for new policies and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and facilitate greater utilization of labor and resources.
- Promote and adhere to the workplace core values of Advanced Molding Technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams in the planning, development and launch of new programs/projects to make them more efficient form a quality standpoint.
- Develop and implement protocols, work instructions and procedure related to quality including control plans, inspection and equipment training guides, sampling, etc.
- Assist in the completion of first article inspection reports, capability studies and designed experiments.
- Manage projects related to continuous improvement of validation processes, assembly processes and corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Plastics, Manufacturing or Biomedical Engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years experience as a Quality Engineer in an ISO certified plastic injection molding environment.
- Working application of quality tools including 6S, Lean and SPC.
- Ability to effectively communicate through various methods with engineering teams, production and customers.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Power Point, etc.
- Working knowledge of various engineering software programs.
- Working knowledge of IQMS.
