- General Summary: Support the Quality Control areas with plant focus on training and maintain the overall Toyota Production System as well as company policies/procedures.
II. Essential Job Functions:
- Through daily communication meetings, keep team members informed on issues relevant to them and encourage two-way communication.
- Support Group Leader/A/M with PEFF, 5s walk through and communication of issues.
- Support Group Leader/A/M with recording of KYTs, IPPMs, scrap, rework/regrind, change point boards, training records and countermeasure implementation for all.
- Support Group Leader/A/M with investigating safety incidents, escalation procedure, WPS creation and standardized work audits.
- Responsible for parameter and hourly checks, leading exercise, STD work audits, Kamishibi boards, and product and process audits.
- Responsible for getting supplies (in-house) to the team members.
- Responsible for 5s of their area, respond to line calls, rework review/inspection and sorting as required.
- Data collection and trials as needed.
- Create, issue and audit Quality Alerts/Process Alerts for internal and external defects/ initiate investigation and containment activities.
- Develop standardized work procedures by designing and/or documenting the best work sequence for each process.
- Perform the essential job functions of team leaders or team members as necessary to maintain efficient, stable, and continuous operations.
- Troubleshoot daily quality, safety, and production issues
- Be proactive in predicting abnormalities and finding innovative solutions to correct.
- Maintain, monitor, and update department and KPI board and graphs, daily, and initiate continuous improvement activities.
- Orientate and oversee all training of team members and assign experienced and/or certified trainers to perform new team member training and cross training as needed.
- Maintain training matrix for team members assuring training is effective and corrects sub-standard performance.
- Coordinate communications between shifts for assigned area(s).
- Fill in as acting G/L in the event the G/L is absent or unavailable.
- Act as absence reserve for the QC group when needed.
- Minimum Qualifications/Requirements :
Education:
- NA
Experience:
- 1-2 years with leadership experience.
- 1-2 years with automotive experience preferred.
Personal/Technical Skills:
- Self-starter with strong work ethic
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Flexibility in a changing environment
- Mandatory overtime flexibility
- Flexibility to go to different shift based on business needs.
Language Skills:
- English, both written and verbal
Computer/Software:
- Basic Microsoft Office applications
- Work Environment/Conditions :
Plant: Automotive manufacturing plant
Travel: 0-10%
- Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
