TITLE: QA Manager
LOCATION: Lindon, UT
STATUS: Full-time Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance

JOB SUMMARY
The QA Manager will supervise all activities which results in consistent food safety as measured through the company matrix and regulatory mandates. Develop, document and implement food safety processes and procedures to ensure product safety. Enforce the company's food safety standards. Maintain the required documentation. Develop a professional working relationship and act as a plant liaison with USDA staff. Ensure Facility Compliance with FDA, USDA and SQF regulations and requirements. Supervise and direct quality assurance technicians/auditors who are responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality and safety related policies to meet product quality standards. Perform other duties as directed by COO.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Lead and manage the QA assistants assuring an effective and strong audit function;
- Assure compliance to regulatory quality assurance requirements in the areas of material
inspection, in-process quality control, finished product evaluation, GMPs, as well as
compliance to local, state and federal regulatory agencies;
- Provide support of all internal and external audits;
- Establish, implement, maintain, and update the Quality and Food Safety Management and
Food Safety Plan;
- Trouble shoot quality issues across the varied supply chains of ingredients, packaging,
and finished product;

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology and/or related field preferred or
equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through on the job training or experience.
- 2-5 years in a QA Supervisor role within the food industry;
- Familiar with food safety systems and quality management systems;
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques;
- Experience in a HACCP, QA or food safety supervisory role.
- SQF certified preferred;
- Strong analytical and both oral and written skills.

- Experience in further processing is a plus.
- Completed certification status as Certified Food Safety Manager or equivalent.
- Knowledge of poultry and food processing principles.
- Understanding of management principles and team concepts.
- General knowledge of plant functions, i.e., production, maintenance, warehouse, shipping
and sanitation.
- HACCP certified and very strong HACCP and regulatory skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a production and office setting.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be asked to participate in work
that may sometimes be exposed to odors, fumes, dust, or airborne particles, moving
mechanical parts and vibration.
- Certain products handled by the company contain Milk, Peanut, and Coconut allergens.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
