The Role*
The Quality Assurance Manager is to be responsible for developing, implementing, and management of Quality Systems, plans, policies, and procedures at Black Rifle Coffee Company (BRCC) Facilities. This role will lead the Q.A. Team in the performance of their day-to-day Quality activities, as well as interactions with the SLC, UT Roasting Section and ensure products and process compliance to specifications, standards, and requirements. In addition, Quality Assurance Manager will serve as the system administrator of the BRCC
Document Control Library and compliance with various certifications (Organic, Kosher, (GFSI) SQF).
YOUR TASK

  • Lead the planning and implementation of plant quality objectives in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Environment. Prepare and ensure adherence to the QA departments annual operating budget.
  • Establish, monitor and update Food Safety and Quality programs in conjunction with other departments to meet company and regulatory objectives, such as FDA/GFSI, including but is not limited to SQF, HACCP, Traceability, GMPs, Food Defense, Pest Control and Sanitation.
  • Oversee and champion all department policies and procedures to ensure they are being followed and documented.
  • Interview, hire, train, develop, and evaluate QA staff to provide timely, accurate, and consistent service to both internal and external customers.
  • Oversight of product development at plant level.
  • Coordinate third-party and internal audits.
  • Apply total quality management and statistical tools in investigations, analytics, and reporting.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of the product holds, customer & consumer complaints and regulatory
  • Responsible for coordinating/conducting product or raw material trials & projects in conjunction with cross-functional teams.
  • HACCP/Food Safety Team Leader, leading meetings, risk assessments, troubleshooting, and special projects.
  • Promote strong Food Safety and Quality Management culture by providing the resources needed to facilitate programs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to assesses incidents and consumer complaints for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution (CAPA)2.
  • Collect and trend quality/food safety data. Present data at plant all hands meetings to discuss any continuous improvement efforts and/or ways to mitigate identified risks.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in quality systems, food safety, and specification compliance.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Food Science or related discipline.
  • Preferred 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Must understand the GFSI certification scheme and recognized certification program requirements and be certified.
  • HACCP certified and subject matter expert with Food Safety Standards, HACCP, FSMA, GFSI, GMPs, SSOPs.
  • Strong project management skills; analytical skills, and interpersonal skills. Ability to coordinate food safety efforts with multiple departments.
  • Must have experience in a supervisory role.
  • Some mechanical aptitude and understanding of the coffee-making process equipment preferred.
  • Complete understanding of the laboratory analytical equipment function and operation required.
  • Some microbiological experience would be considered an advantage.
  • Capable of making judgment, risk, and business decisions quickly and expeditiously.
  • Ability to stand-alone in decision making.
