The Quality Assurance Specialist is a critical function in our Expert Witness Services (EWS) department and works alongside the Quality Assurance Coordinator. The Quality Assurance Specialist partners with Recruiting to create clear and succinct expert candidate presentations.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work within a fast-paced environment. They will ensure the candidate presentation complies with company procedures. As a part of the team, they will be involved in editing the work of others and contributing to the overall success of the department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts quality control reviews of written candidate presentations and performs basic and/or complex editing
- Writes and/or rewrites clear, concise, and compelling narratives
- Reads and analyzes candidate presentation portfolios
- Ensures content is compliant, persuasive, and easy to read
- Applies formal editing skills, including:
- Assessment of content to match presentation with client specifications
- Copy-editing to improve format, style and accuracy or text, to include executive summaries, conclusions, and candidate credentials, as well as graphics
- Proof-reading for errors and imperfections
- Rate and retainer review to validate correct expert rates, IMS mark-up, and term requirements
- Maintains quality results by using templates; follows presentation-writing standards, including readability, consistency, and tone
- Performs quality assurance checks on rates, retainers, terms, and expert placement pending notes to ensure accurate expert information prior to engagement
- All other duties as assigned
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Experience writing/editing proposals within the legal industry, preferred
- Strong ability to multitask
- Experience formatting Microsoft Word using style templates
- Must have the ability to complete assigned tasks within the required deadlines
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and to practice strong organizational skills when faced with multiple, time-sensitive projects
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people who possess a variety of skills, experience, and personalities
EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of three years of business experience, preferably within a professional services firm or legal entity
- Familiarity with the Associated Press Style Guide, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business, English, communications, or another related field, preferred
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.48 - $42.63 per hour
