Purchasing Manager

Shenandoah Furniture was founded in Martinsville, Virginia in 1981. Shenandoah specializes in manufacturing quality upper-end transitional and modern upholstered furniture in facilities located in Virginia and North Carolina. In September 2017, Shenandoah joined the Hooker Furniture family. Hooker Furniture is an industry leader in the furniture business for over 90 years.

The Position:

We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our team in our Valdese, NC location. This individual will:

· Be our primary buyer

· Prepare and assign purchase orders and change notices.

· Develop supply sources and negotiate pricing.

· Review and monitor requisitions, supply sources, supplies, quotations, and terms.

· Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine future material availability.

· Establish and monitor inventory control systems.

· Monitor performance and capabilities of vendors to insure delivery, cost and quality of materials.

· Act as liaison between vendors and user departments when needed.

· Assist in meeting the needs of Shenandoah Furniture customers.

Candidates that will be a great fit will:

• Have a BS degree in business, accounting, or finance.
• Possess strong decision making, analytical and negotiating skills.
• Be able to communicate with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
• Have high-level organization skills to handle multiple facilities.
• Be proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.

Shift: Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm with occasional overtime opportunities. This position will be based in Valdese, but require occasional travel to our Martinsville, VA and Mt. Airy, NC location.

Pay: Depending on experience.
