Job description
- Work with Production Planner to create jobs for needed MFG. components via R1 and or C1.
- Daily review of internal demand via PRP system to maintain correct allocations with inventory changes.
- Utilize PRP to reduce excessive orders and minimize inventory. Also use PRP to estimate the arrival date of internal components.
- Utilize MRP to evaluate vendor delivery dates and plan production jobs according to the arrival dates.
- Routinely adjust job set due dates in conjunction with Production Planner as jobs are rescheduled.
- Ensures parts needed for upcoming units are in stock and expedited where needed.
- Contacts Vendors concerning parts shortages and tracks shipments of parts in route.
- Makes suggestions to Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager of units needing to be pushed further back in production due to major parts shortage.
- Compiles and prepares spreadsheets of missing parts and delivery dates.
- Maintains Open Order Reports from Multiple Vendors.
- Assist in and maintain vendor files and searching for new vendors to remain competitive.
- Ensures quality of purchased material; ensures competitive pricing.
- Assist in daily purchasing task.
- Assist with any other special request as needed.
