Job description
The Property Maintenance Inspector position conducts on-site inspections of residential properties and commercial properties to ensure that property owners and city residents are complying with applicable property maintenance local, state, and federal laws and housing, nuisance and unsafe structures codes.
Position Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have and maintain a valid Class C Kansas driver’s license and a city insurable driving record.
Property Maintenance Inspector II - $20.49 per hour
- Requires two (2) or more years experience in regulation or compliance related fields dealing with codes and/or ordinances; two (2) or more years of experience in building construction trades, such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing or building, may be substituted for code enforcement experience.
- Two (2) years of college courses at an accredited institution with an emphasis on building construction, criminal justice, code enforcement, or other related subject preferred, a combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Property Maintenance Inspector I - $19.31 per hour
Requires two (2) years of experience in a related construction field or one year of college courses at an
accredited institution with an emphasis on building construction.
