Los Alamos National Laboratory requires all on-site personnel to be fully COVID vaccinated to be considered for this position.

SMSI is seeking an experienced project professional that can research, assemble, and/or evaluate information or data from subject matter experts and functional support groups (i.e. construction, engineering or safety), and coordinate the field execution activities on a project, or designated portions of a project.

Qualifications:

  • Active Q Clearance
  • Ability and willingness to enroll in the LANL Human Reliability Program (HRP).
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel; building trust, gaining consensus and resolving conflicts.
  • At least 20 years of progressively responsible and successful experience working on government projects.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible and successful experience working on LANL projects.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible and successful experience working as a Project Controls Engineer.
  • At least 5 years of working with or leading construction activities and crews. (i.e. Craft Superintendent, Craft General Forman etc.)
  • Proven leadership and management in the following areas: personnel management, customer engagement, financial and schedule management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills that includes reporting on project status to senior level management, project stakeholders, as well as regulatory inquiries.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and planning concepts. Management experience in all project management functions—including formal earned value management system (EVMS)—that includes financial analysis and planning concepts.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Capability with MS Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients, contractors, and consultants on a day-to-day basis.
