Texans Credit Union has a great opportunity for a Project Manager! Under general direction, this role is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. The Project Manager takes projects from original concept through final implementation, defines project scope and objectives and develops a detailed work breakdown including structures, schedules, project estimates, resource requirements and status reports. Additionally, the role tracks any vendor tasks and deliverables, conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. The Project Manager ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables and leads Sprint Planning and periodic stand-up Scrum meetings to track development and testing progress. This role offers hybrid remote options with a portion of the role to be completed onsite at our Headquarters in Richardson, TX.

Major Duties and Essential Functions

1. Manage multiple concurrent projects and balance the prioritization of project schedules.

2. Create and manage project documentation: project charter, project plan, periodic project status updates, lessons learned and other project artifacts.

3. Identify and comprehend overall project scope. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones, proactively Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path across multiple work streams.

4. Conduct scheduled project status meetings; provide regular reporting on project updates, escalate any actions, decisions and risks as necessary to management.

5. Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues throughout the lifecycle of a project.

6. Manage relationships with key decision makers from project inception to post-deployment while simultaneously ensuring end-user satisfaction.

7. Effectively facilitate cross-functional, technical and business process discussions in a productive manner while not necessarily being the Subject Matter Expert on the topic at hand.

8. Draft project budgets and track to actual budget.

9. Prioritize tasks and effectively manage day-to-day issues and priorities.

10. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and work with other department managers to obtain commitments on assignments.

11. Acts as a liaison between business units and 3rd party vendors.

12. Facilitate effective project closure to validate that the success criteria and deliverables were met, all the project tasks were completed and to capture lessons learned to enable further growth and maturity

13. Lead Sprint Planning and periodic stand-up Scrum meetings to track development and testing progress.

14. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

15. Ability to work off-hours with occasional evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as some projects may demand that extra time and attention.

Requirements:

  • Must be a self-starter with punctual and reliable work habits
  • Must have strong problem- solving skills and be detail oriented
  • Must be well organized with ability to multi-task and prioritize resources, time, and work load between multiple projects. Ability to think critically while working both independently and as part of a team is required
  • Possesses general understanding in the areas of systems, application software and databases
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application to the business

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

Experience: Two to three (2-3) years of Project Management experience managing medium to large projects. Working towards PM certification is preferred. Experience with the SCRUM Agile method is a plus. Should be proficient using Microsoft Office applications, including: Outlook, Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
