Job Description:
Position Responsibilities:
This person will be for the plants they are assigned and serve…..:
- Responsible for multiple locations and have in-depth understanding of the business side of a “Food Company”
- Able to effectively communicate with and lead cross-functional resources
- The direct manager for external engineering employees and accountable for their results. In addition, they will have a vested interest in their on-going professional development.
- Accountable for insuring the cost reduction and sustainability objectives are delivered.
- Accountable for effective capital and capital related expense planning, stewardship and execution.
- A generator of ideas to deliver against supply chain and business objectives.
- An extension of assigned facilities’ leadership teams
Additionally:
- The Project Engineer will be expected to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously across several sites in the US and/or Canada.
- This position interacts frequently with leadership positions within and outside the supply chain function.
- This person will develop and review business case screening scopes and estimates with the leadership team to provide a directional view of a project
- This person will be responsible for ensuring that all project planning, deliverables, reporting, and spending forecasts are managed accurately and that all projects are delivered within cost, schedule, with no service issues while delivering the agreed performance success criteria.
- External interaction will include, but is not limited to, the following: equipment vendors, construction contractors, engineering services contractors, local / state / federal government agencies, and co-manufacturing organizations.
- This person is recognized as a technical leader and an expert in project and initiative management and has demonstrated significant accomplishments and contributions to meet business initiatives.
- The role will involve on-site troubleshooting, including leading teams through root cause problem solving.
- The Project Engineer must understand sanitary design best practices
Qualifications and Requirements:
- BS in an Engineering discipline.
- 3-5 years of Project Management experience that includes successfully managing several capital projects totaling ~$6m per year.
- Demonstrated track record of driving substantive improvement in key KPI’s such as cost reduction, reliability, and material loss reduction.
- Preferred candidate will have plant experience in operations, maintenance, and/or engineering
- Formal project management training or certifications are a plus.
