The great news is KIS is growing! We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team!

The Project Manager’s job is to oversee each project from conception to the finished structure, interfacing with construction professionals, design teams and the client. The position includes benefits, competitive salary, and paid time off. The job includes both hands-on and administrative duties.

A typical day for the Project Manager may consist of the following:

  • Leading the project team through daily project activities. Typical teams consist of Superintendent, Project Controls, QC, SSHO, Administration and others as the situation requires.
  • Set and achieve performance goals and deadlines.
  • Implement, monitor & ensure compliance with safety and quality guidelines.
  • Manage subcontractors and coordinate subcontractor work to ensure the project schedule is met.
  • Understands construction sequencing. Can conceptually build the project in its entirety and then go out and do it.
  • Leading and guiding their team through all safety protocols.
  • Ensures all work is per the work plan document and that quality is met by utilizing the QCP.
  • Performing timely on-site inspections in support of project operations; maintain a close, professional relationship with the entire project team to ensure project goals are met.
  • Identifying and resolving problems and conflicts early by utilizing specific controls established.
  • Effectively communicate with Owners and Clients to ensure there is a complete understanding of the project and any current issues or outstanding questions. This would include coordinating and completing written communications as well as in-person meetings.
  • Preparing and managing budgets and effectively executing the plan.
  • Write and execute subcontracts and the scope of work and price construction change orders while managing schedules, close outs, and job costs.
  • Oversight and responsibility for of the QC and Safety program.
  • Developing recurring progress reports to the customer and KIS management.
  • Oversight and responsibility for of the submittal process, RFIs, Daily Reports, financial reports and others as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ prior experience as a Project Manager is required.
  • Completed or have the ability to complete OSHA 30-hour safety course, USCOE CQM, FA/CPR/AED and ASHE HCC certifications within 60 days of employment.
  • Analytical Skills: must be skilled at planning for large-scale, multi-step projects and be capable of defining roles and responsibilities.
  • Decision Making: must be able to make frequent decisions, such as choosing subcontractors, systems, schedules, and more.
  • Communication: writing and speaking skills are needed when communicating with employees, writing reports, working with subcontractors and presenting conclusions to project managers and clients.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with electrical power distribution projects and requirements.
  • Experience with civil projects and requirements.
  • Experience with design-build projects and development.
  • Experience in Federal Government projects, specifically DOD contracts.
