Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for the execution of one or more simultaneous products under development according to the Stage-Gated process from program inception through volume production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute project plans that ensure assigned projects are completed on time, on budget, and according to the agreed specifications
- Document and present detailed estimates of cost, time, and capability to internal and external project stakeholders
- Guide Project Teams and facilitate communication and interaction amongst the functional representatives
- Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables against goals, reporting status to project team, supervisor, and business unit leadership on a regular basis
- Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities
- Coordinate with customers, through Marketing and Sales, to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback
- Work closely with the Operations and Engineering teams to support ongoing life-cycle management of existing products
- Provide feedback regarding employee performance on a program team to the functional manager
- Recommend and steer efforts to adjust existing processes to improve quality or on-time delivery
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience or certifications, in a technical, business, or financial discipline
- 5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing company, focused on high-technology products
- 6 years of project management experience
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques and disciplines, with PMP Certification
- Experience in Development Engineering or Operations
- Ability to manage within a matrix organization
- Fluency with financial analyses, including cost estimations, profit margin analysis, and return on investment (ROI) calculations
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing/assembly, test engineering, and quality systems
- Demonstrated attention to detail, especially the ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas to draw conclusions on project/product readiness and provide meaningful feedback to project stakeholders on project risks
- Self-assured, with strong leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Motivated to take action, with the ability to hold oneself and others accountable to deliverables
