Project Analyst – Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC, Jacksonville, FL, or Omaha, NE
Benesch is seeking to hire a full-time Project Analyst to perform administrative and related project accounting support functions for the Railroad Division.
Reporting to the Division Manager, the Project Analyst will also be accountable to the Regional Manager, COO, CFO, and Controller. You will support project financial performance, A/R, projections, and budgeting. The ideal candidate will work independently in performing duties within Operations and company guidelines.
This position offers you the opportunity to be in our Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC, Jacksonville, FL, or Omaha, NE office.
The Impact you will have:
- Assist Division Managers, Group Managers, and Project Managers during project set-up and project management process
- Provide project financial data for analysis and to help establish goals and monitor performance
- Review monthly project reports, Projects for Discussion reports, and A/R Over 90 Days reports, collect and analyze the information provided by PM to assess project status and identify issues.
- Perform calculations and analysis to ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Inform DMs, GMs, and PMs of results and/or corrective actions needed
- Work with PMs to set up new projects in compliance with contractual terms and to achieve accurate revenue recognition and billings.
- Prepare a Project Information Form (PIF) and enter the data into Vision.
- Monitor preparation of monthly billings by PMs in compliance with contracts, billing schedules, and company policy
- Monitor accounts receivable and WIP and consult with DM, GM, and PMs to take corrective action to maintain accurate current status. Work with PMs and clients to resolve billing issues.
- Provide PMs with project accounting support and training on project accounting and tools
- Provide financial data to PMs for proposals and contracts
- Monitor PQMP compliance and coordinate with the PMs to keep e-documentation up to date.
- Verify that QC documentation has been placed in the project directory.
- Submit exemption requests on behalf of PMs as appropriate.
- Verify that project contracts, scopes of work, PIFs, budgets, and other relevant materials have been placed in the project directory.
- Assist the Division and Group managers with preparing annual financial and capital spending budgets. Work with staff from other departments or offices to ensure accurate budget monitoring.
- Work with Division Manager to monitor employee professional development plans.
- Assist the Division Manager with a review of employee expense reports.
- Coordinate with Accounting staff or other administrative staff as needed
- Other duties include assisting DMs, GMs, PMs, and the Accounting team.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum associate degree, and 2-3 years of equivalent work experience
- Ability and working knowledge of general business practices, including general knowledge of practical and economical office procedures.
- Proven ability to communicate in both a written and oral manner
- Working knowledge of personal computer equipment; including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and other internal software packages
