DUTY STATEMENT
The Program Manager (PM) role is a supervisory role reporting directly to the Program Director (PD) of the Simi Valley program office. Under supervision of the PD, the PM shall serve as a agency leader, supervising support staff, and ensuring the delivery of excellent services to the participants of the PALS Simi Valley program. The PM is a resource for both the support staff and the participants of the program. They are a point of contact for persons and agencies who are contacting the PALS office. The PM attends meetings, leads training activities, solves problems together with participants and staff, works collaboratively with staff and writes progress reports. The PM is a people person with great interpersonal skills. We are looking for a dynamic individual with great people skills. The people skills to assist staff, participants and agencies we interact with. This is not a desk job, the ideal candidate must have the ability to leave the desk and support our staff. They must have the ability to transport participants with the company vans and or personal vehicle. The PM must be capable at running a curriculum. The manager must have exceptional Behavior Management skills. The PM shall, in their supervisory role, provide guidance and supports to all staff who are out in the community as well, and shall ensure implementation of the scheduled services and activities that PALS program participants are expecting to receive in compliance with Program Design, as well as Title 17 & 22.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree, an AA or AS, is preferred but other educational experience is also considered. Candidate must have at least three years experience within the field of Developmental Disabilities. Education may substitute for two years of experience may not substitute for the third year of required experience in the field for consideration of employment. Experience with Mental Disorders, e.g., Schizophrenia, Depression, & OCD is preferred. Position requires time management and leadership skills. Must have ability to represent the agency professional conduct and proactive community leadership skills. Person must have ability to organize meetings, conduct pre-placement assessments, provide praise and leadership to staff, as well as, provide disciplinary feedback when needed. In addition, candidate must have basic computer skills including use of the internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and other applications.
