JOB TITLE: Program Manager Therapist (PMT)

Reports To: Program Director (Prince George’s County, MD) and Executive Director

Full-time with Benefits; FLSA Status: Exempt

Roberta's House Program Manager Therapist (PMT) offers oversight of Roberta’s House (RH) advocacy programs and provides individual and family therapy to clients in the Prince George’s County (PGC), Maryland, metropolitan area. The ideal candidate provides mental health services to clients suffering from mental disorders associated with victimology, homicide, or complicated grieving issues. They must successfully track individual and group therapy/counseling techniques, crisis intervention, program management, strong people skills, and a willingness to help others. Teletherapy and in-person sessions are appropriate for the position. The PMT also collaborates with peers in other RH departments to plan and execute programming, training, quality assurance, and evaluation of assigned advocacy programs.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Administer diagnostic evaluations, provide individual and family counseling services, and provide weekly in-person or telehealth therapy to assigned cases.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director (PGC) and the Baltimore Behavioral Health Supervisor, ensuring compliance with the Maryland COMAR, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and efficient billing.
  • Assist with grant management as required and close involvement in program planning, training, quality assurance, and evaluation of programs.
  • Ability to develop partnerships with community organizations
  • Review and approve client treatment documentation in electronic health records within established timelines, and sign all necessary documents (case management progress notes, etc.)
  • Strong regulatory knowledge, including clinical protocols
  • Use and stay abreast of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition DSM-5.
  • Responsible for ongoing collaboration with community/stakeholders, achieving positive public relations, and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholder partners and providers
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to deal with competing priorities, also strong reasoning, and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, along with leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of pre and post-traumatic distress and victimization
  • Maintain an industry presence as a subject-matter resource by attending meetings, publishing in peer-reviewed periodicals/journals, and attending/presenting at annual conferences
  • Collaborate with peers in other RH departments to identify creative and proactive strategies to reach new demographics and relevant services
  • Strong public speaking and writing skills
  • Assist with mentoring mental health interns

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Applies mastery of mental health and programmatic principles, concepts, and laws in the field of therapy and social work/human services

Possess advanced training and credential in the area of group facilitation, such as case presentation, focus on holding the space that encourages self-reflection and self-regulation, both physical and emotional, observation of the staff member’s internal responses to the work, including parallels between what might be going on for the worker as well as how that might impact the staff and productivity.

Employ unique combinations of social, psychological, and demographic factors in each program area under the incumbent’s supervision may include voluminous data obtained in all forms of internal and external sources.

EDUCATION

Master's Degree in Education (M.Ed., MS. or M.A.), Public Health, Social Work (A Maryland State license in social work is not required), Public Administration, Human Services, Sociology, or Psychology from an accredited college or university supplemented and six years of progressively responsible management experience in an education environment, social work, mental health, public safety, non-profit, or related environment.

Project management certification is desirable but not required.

Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. A supplemental investigation may be required upon the work anniversary date or as the employer deems appropriate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
