Program Director III - IDD Eligibility
Job description
The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Program Manager III to join our team. Under the general supervision of the designated supervisor, performs highly advanced (senior- level) administrative and supervisory work. Work involves establishing program goals and objectives; developing program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving program goals; evaluating program activities; developing and evaluating budget requests; and coordinating program activities. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of Initiative and independent judgment. Ensures services that are provided to individuals are in compliance with HHSC and Agency standards. Position may require travel and flexible hours.
What you will do:
- Formulates and implements effective tracking systems to ensure service delivery is provided within designated timeframes.
- Provides leadership and direction to team leaders and other direct support staff persons in all aspects of their work roles. Serves as information conduit to staff via verbal or written communication.
- Develops and implements effective techniques for evaluating agency programs. Participates in program planning, development, and Implementation.
- Participates and acts as a liaison with community advocacy groups to promote education and develop resources.
- Reviews and evaluates information on service delivery system methods, outputs, and activities to identify gaps in resources and recommend improvements.
- Assists In analyzing the applications and variations of programs to develop an action plan for improvement or initiate new programs.
- Perform related work as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
- Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent.
- Must have Master’s degree in social science, human services, or public administration with 3 years of experience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
- Licensure through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists preferred (PLP, LPA, LSSP, LP.)
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws relating to the program area; of public administration and management techniques; of statistical analysis processes; and of program planning and implementation.
- Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to devise solutions to problems; to prepare concise reports; to develop and evaluate policies and procedures; and to supervise the work of others.
