Program Director - Youth Services - Beacon/Cornerstone Programs

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is the largest not-for-profit provider of quality education, employment, and health and recreation programs in the impoverished neighborhoods of the North Bronx, serving the needs of more than 35,000 residents each year. MMCC is seeking an experienced Program Director with 2+ years’ full-time experience supervising staff and developing effective Programs. Previous staff supervision experience is mandatory in this position.
Candidates must have knowledge and experience of DYCD programs including DYCD online/Connect. The ideal candidate will also have a strong knowledge of public relations & youth development. For additional requirements, please see below.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Planning the delivery of the overall program and activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the Agency.
- Developing new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the Agency.
- Developing and implementing long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
- Assisting in the creation of an annual budget and operating plan to support the program.
- Building upon the program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement.
- The ability to engage in crisis-intervention activities and demonstrate, lead, and teach a range of group activities.
- Serving as the Program marketer and partner to the community, neighboring communities, schools, and other local agencies.
- Ensuring that activities operate within the policies and procedures of the Agency.
- Ensuring that activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.
- The ability to firmly meet all deadlines pertaining to payroll and new hire packages.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, Human Services, Recreation or a related field is required
- 2 years full-time experience supervising staff is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of public relations & youth development
- Demonstrated ability to work with flexibility and efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to work sensitively with diverse people and communities
- High standards, integrity, a detail-oriented, well-organized self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment and discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required Software:
- Knowledge of DYCD online/connect STRONGLY preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Salary:
- $55,000 to $58,000 commensurate with experience
