The mission of the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become leaders of character, motivated to lead the United States Air Force in service to our nation. The Center for Character & Leadership Development (CCLD) plays a pivotal role in the USAFA mission by developing, administering, and assessing programs designed to promote leadership and character scholarship.
Position Responsibilities
Aleut is searching for enthusiastic and experienced instructors to provide support the CCLD cadet mentorship program, and Leader of Character (LoC) training of USAFA permanent party and cadets. The scope of work may include:
- Assisting the Development Division Chief with design, refinement, and/or facilitation of the CCLD menu of services and curriculum focusing on Development opportunities for USAFA Permanent Party and cadets addressing organizational concerns, and character and leadership development
- Assisting the Development Division Chief with arranging venues, registering participants, and scheduling facilitators for workshops and other development events hosted by CCLD
- Advising the Development Division Chief on approaches to market the Development Opportunities and menu of services’ program’s objectives and assist with producing overview briefings, white papers, and marketing data about the program’s elements, registration process, and other information as required
- Supporting development, refinement, and implementation of the cadet mentoring program
- Attending periodic CCLD staff meetings and weekly management meetings
- Monitor weekly and monthly project status information for the Development Division Chief via email, PowerPoint, and in-person
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in leadership, organizational management, or behavioral sciences
- Minimum two years’ experience in the development and execution of professional development curriculum
- Coaching credential from an accredited source, recognized by the International Coaching Federation
- Experience with leadership training
- Experience in leading implementation of a mentoring program
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and demonstrate good program management skills Ability to work in the high operations tempo of a quasi-university environment founded on military standards
- Familiarity with using DoD, USAF and USAFA instructions and guidelines for conduct of work
- Experience working in military environment with knowledge of rank, protocol and culture
