E&E Foods, a leader in the Alaska seafood processing industry is looking for a Production Manager for its Bristol Bay Big Creek plant. The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of plant production and personnel. This person will ensure full compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements; is a key member of the facility management team. This is a full-time position with Alaska stay from May to August.
Reports to Plant Manager, Communicates to Corporate AK Management, Works with Office Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Chief Engineer, and the other Production Supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the recruiting and hiring of plant personnel.
- Responsible for the daily supervision of plant production personnel, including training and development, assessment, motivation and disciplinary action.
- Maintain and communicate daily production reports, daily production costing, evaluate incoming raw product and communicate quality to sales personnel.
- Maintain and communicate information of plant operations as needed. In collaboration with other Supervisors, assess, plan and develop, implement, and evaluate production and operational needs.
- Create end of season inventory and order list of supplies necessary to production and support of production plant.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures safety, sanitation, regulatory requirements and GMP’s are followed.
- Follows up on all production and operational issues to resolution.
- Responsible for scheduling employees for the next day work assignments.
- Does special projects as assigned.
SKILLS/PROFICIENCIES:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of label software and use.
- Has the ability to work a demanding schedule.
- Be able to work in cold and wet conditions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people of all levels and roles.
- Ability to work as part of a large team, in a team environment.
- Maintain positive attitude and set a good example.
- Must be adaptable to the unpredictable needs of a production environment.
- Have a working knowledge of each production position.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must show availability to work in the USA.
- Must comply with all COVID-19 protocols and all company safety guidelines and policies
