SUMMARY

Manage section within division with the emphasis on improving quality, cost, consistency, delivery, productivity, safety, defect, and morale. Daily management of supervisors to ensure customer deliveries are not interrupted and quality issues are corrected. Daily management and control by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plans, directs, and coordinates the operations of a production department.

Develops manpower loading requirements based on production guidelines.

Sets priorities for production schedules based on new product introduction, efficiency and materials supply.

Tracks and follows daily control of productivity, defect, delivery, quality, PPM, and countermeasures accordingly while directing the work efforts of multiple supervisors.

Makes budget recommendations on capital expenditures and labor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Minimum of 5 years of related supervisory/managerial experience
