SUMMARY:

All production employees need to understand and reinforce the Company vision of being the best producer of steel pipe and tube in North America.

Production employees utilize and operate equipment, material and tools in the processing, inspecting, packing and transporting of materials and supportive processes. Production employees comply with all safety, quality, customer focus, preventative maintenance and housekeeping standards. All other duties as assigned and expected.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize and operate different machines to cut, process, transport, test, tag, inspect, pack, load and off load steel tooling, coil and tube materials utilizing hand/arm and foot controls, meeting established production standards.
• Monitor, manipulate and change various equipment and tooling, including the setup of different machines to be able to run different materials and products.
• Utilize micrometer, caliper, gages, tape measures and other tools to ensure proper production and quality standards.
• Read and complete documentation and charts regarding material being produced.
• Communicate to Management and peers regarding safety, quality, preventative maintenance, customer focus and equipment issues, concerns and improvement initiatives.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives and support a flexible team environment that best suits all Caparo Bull Moose
• Perform basic repairs and troubleshoot equipment to determine possible solutions.
• Ensure proper preventative maintenance related to all materials, processes and equipment.
• Follow all applicable procedures, directions and instructions, performing other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to learn multiple machine and crane operations
• Ability to engage in cross-functional collaboration with operators
• Basic mechanical abilities to perform basic repairs and troubleshoot equipment to determine possible issues and solutions
• A focus on continuous improvement
• Machine operating and manufacturing experience a plus

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to stand and walk for 8 hour shift, ability to push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, and climb regularly
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to read shop signs and instructions
• Detail oriented and able to verify information.
• Basic math skills and an ability to do general weighing and measuring functions.
