TasksThe Production Apprenticeship program is a structured career development program that combines On the Job Training (OJT) and classroom instruction at Hinds Community College.
- Complete On the Job Training as planned and within with in defined timeline
- Complete Industrial Maintenance curriculum in defined timeline and stay in good standing at Hinds County Community College
- On the Job Training will requires the Apprentice to complete Task, Duties, and Responsibilities of a Tire Builder:
- Must be able to receive written and oral instructions as to specs, procedures, tolerances, and various construction and quality requirements
- Follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to promptly and accurately obtain quality and quantity production
- Read specifications, use hand tools, tape measures and other gauging devices, to monitor current and ongoing product quality
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and react quickly to equipment downtime or other extraordinary condition, and must notify supervision whenever such conditions occur
- Complete quality checks on product including corrective actions using metric measurements and formulas
- Paid Tuition to complete coursework at Hinds County Community College

- Minimum of 18 years old
- Currently enrolled in dual credit Manufacturing course with local high school and Hinds Community College
- GPA of 2.5 or higher within core subjects and Intro to Manufacturing course (using 4.0 scale)
- Must be nominated by a major subject teacher from 11th or 12th grade year
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
