Process Engineer – Plastics Manufacturer

In this vital role you will be responsible for effectively applying your process engineering expertise; enabling operating management to safely meet production goals, at targeted cost levels, while meeting customer expectations for quality and delivery. A key focus will be the development of plans to assure all activities are focused on continuous improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities
· Support Ensinger’s safety goals, ensuring safe work practices are instilled in all processes
· Proactively drive continuous improvement into new and existing processes using data driven analysis and detailed project planning
· Establish robust, repeatable processes and operating parameters
· Employ manufacturing improvement methodologies to troubleshoot and resolve process variation
· Assist Manufacturing teams in troubleshooting processes and equipment
· Plan and implement new capital projects and equipment modifications
· Support the design, development, purchase and installation of tooling and equipment
· Promote Ensinger technology, tooling and equipment standards
· Coordinate with Product Development teams on production trials of new materials
· Establish process and labor standards
· Develop and maintain process documentation
· Develop training material for manufacturing personnel
· Support US manufacturing locations as requested (up to 10% domestic travel)
Specialized Skills and Abilities
· Proven ability to effectively work as member of a cross-functional team
· Proven ability to apply knowledge and/or experience to define problems, generate alternatives and execute solutions
· Demonstrated application of business improvement principles (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
· Proven ability to instill accountability and deliver results based on key metrics
· Demonstrated effective communication skills
· Demonstrated strong service orientation
· Demonstrated experience in mechanical/chemical testing methods and requirements
Qualifications
· BS in Engineering required, with Plastics Engineering, Plastics & Polymer Engineering Technology, or Chemical Engineering, a plus
· Applicable experience, a plus
