The New York State Unified Court System, the judicial branch of the state government, is one of the largest and busiest court systems in the world. Its workforce of 16,000 dedicated judges and non-judicial employees serve the public by providing just and timely resolution of all matters before the courts.

The Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission of the New York State Courts seeks to promote equal access and full participation in the court system by persons and communities of color. The mission of the Williams Commission to ensure equal justice in the New York State and to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the judiciary, legal profession, and court workforce.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

· Drafting correspondence letters, emails, and budget requests for Commission programs and events.

· Prepare and submit staff travel expense reports via the New York State Financial System (SFS).

· Respond to email inquiries, draft and send broadcast notifications to affinity groups and bar associations, schedule and calendar Commission meetings and programs.

· Take minutes at Commission monthly meetings.

· Serve as liaison between inter-agency departments and community stakeholders.

· Manage the Commission’s webpage.

· Submit purchase orders for office supplies and equipment.

· Responsibilities may also include general office administrative support, including the facilitation of incoming and outgoing office correspondence.

Knowledge of policies, procedures and collective bargaining provisions of the Unified Court System and subject matter and expertise in relevant employment related federal and state laws, rules and regulations is preferred. Some travel may be required. Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication ability, experience working in a fast paced and flexible team environment are desired. Must be able to work with all levels of management and maintain confidentiality, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet strict deadlines and be highly productive. Preference will be given to those applicants proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary:

$74,478 Annually

$4,300 Location Pay
