Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems is seeking to hire a Prevention Specialist in Media, PA to provide support to Delaware County, PA!

Position specifics: Full-Time, 40 hours per week. This position does require travel between program locations in Delaware County, PA

Location: Media, PA (home office)

Program: Prevention & Education Services

Role Description: In this role the Prevention Specialist I will deliver prevention services in schools and community settings and completing indirect services in support of the prevention goals and objectives as directed by the Prevention Manager.

The job duties of a Prevention Specialist involve working to educate youth, teens and adults about substance abuse and other high-risk activities. In this career, you may work in schools or in the community to encourage a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle. You plan and implement programs to help individuals become aware of substance abuse issues and teach them how to make alternative lifestyle choices. You may prepare and host activities in schools to discourage tobacco and drug use and gambling and also to encourage healthy habits

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in health education, education, the social or behavioral sciences or related field preferred.

Minimum Experience: One year as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee OR one year of experience in drug and alcohol prevention work OR any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Clearances: Pennsylvania Child Abuse clearance, Criminal clearance, and fingerprint based federal criminal history; Verification that employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list.

Holcomb offers a generous benefit package to all employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Benefits are available the first day of a new month after completing 30 days of employment. Health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision are included. Paid holidays in addition to earned paid time off, 403(B) with company match, and 1 year salary of life insurance is available as well. Some benefits are available to employees working between 25-29 hours per week.
