The Growing Me Learning Center is in lovely Oakland, Florida. Oakland was established in 1887 and sits on the banks of Lake Apopka and is nestled among gigantic oaks. Even though the community continues to grow, The Growing Me Learning Center supports the family-friendly community and focuses on creating a home away from home.

We believe the success of children lies in the quality of our staff. Our staff members are carefully selected based on their experience, education, talents, and interpersonal skills. Our staff meets regularly for in-depth training and discussion, covering such areas as program goals, emergency procedures, group work, curriculum planning, philosophy, goals and objectives, policy procedures, and training. Our staff brings with it a multitude of experiences and backgrounds.

This is a full-time position that works 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday offering between $13 -16 per hour based on experience and qualifications. This is an onsite position at our center located: 304 E Oakland Ave, Oakland FL, 34760. The Preschool Teacher plans and implements curriculum for the ages of 2 -3 years old, serves as a model and mentor, and coordinates engaging developmental activities for children. You’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.

What You’ll Do:

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
• Follow all policies and state regulations
• Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement

What We Need from You:

• High School Diploma and/or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of study
• Be patient and engaged with children
• Experience with children who have mild to moderate special needs
• Willingness to train and complete professional development
• Minimum of 30 Credits in ECE, 45 DCF hours, or CDA preferred
• Must clear a full background check
• At least 1 year of professional early childhood training/experience and 1 year of childcare experience preferred
• CPR Certification and Child Development Associate Certification preferred
