Department: Emergency Department
Work Hours: Part time Daylight shifts, Evening/Nights/Weekends/Holidays as needed
The Pre-Hospital EMS Coordinator is the primary liaison between all prehospital care and training agencies as well as fire, police and hazardous materials response teams. This includes developing, providing and implementing quality assurance, educational programs and general communication strategies. In addition, the Coordinator will participate in emergency management planning and in local, state, and regional emergency medical service programs as the system’s representative.
Qualifications:
Required:
Must have a current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic. (EMT/P) with a minimum of five years of full time experience as such or be certified as a prehospital RN with extensive field experience. Must have the ability to perform group speaking and instructional skills.
Preferred:
Teaching experience.
Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, AED and PHTLS/BTLS.
Critical Performance Skills:
Decision making and problem solving, policy and procedures, spoken/written communications, interaction.
