Job description

This Pregnancy and Parenitng Support (PPS) Worker provides parenting support, education and case management to families with young children at risk of child abuse and neglect. This is a full time position working in Jefferson County, MO and the surrounding area. The agency is implementing the Healthy Families America Home Visitation Model. Parenting education using the Nurturing Skills curriculum is delivered within individual sessions using a home visiting approach. This position provides all services in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

We anticipate that this position could work primarily from their own home; therefore a candidate from Jefferson county or in close proximity is preferred.

Pay Range:

Competitive based on experience

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’ s degree in Social Work or related field. Two years’ experience in community based child welfare service or an advanced degree in a social service field. Experience in home visitation, is preferred. Thorough understanding of issues relate to parenting and child development. Knowledge of community resources. An understanding of family systems, the impact of abuse and neglect; substance abuse; mental illness; poverty; grief and loss; and trauma on children and their families.
