Post-Closing Specialist
Velocity Commercial Capital, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Velocity Financial, Inc, an NYSE-listed public company. Velocity Commercial Capital is a real estate finance company founded in 2004 that primarily originates and manages investor loans secured by 1–4-unit residential rental and small commercial properties. Velocity Commercial Capital is seeking to hire a full-time Post-Closing Specialist. This is a good opportunity to start a career in the mortgage industry.
The ideal candidate is positive, resourceful, possesses good judgment, has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and who is a team player. This position is performed in person, five days a week, and is located at our Westlake Village location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review of Original Collateral Package to prepare for shipping to document custodian
- Review Original Collateral Documents to ensure signed and dated correctly
- Review and upload of trailing documents received via mail as needed
- Follow up on missing documents via email and outbound phone calls
- Work cross-departmentally with Capital Markets & Special Servicing to help populate security assignments, submitting them to various counties for recording, while checking for verbiage & compliance accuracy
- Identifying and helping correct deficiencies, county rejections or other assignment-related issues
- Communicate deficiencies to management or other appropriate parties utilizing several methods of communication (email, phone, team chats) and follow-up until all tasks are completed
Required Skills and Experience:
- A respectful and progressive ability to work in-person with a team of peers
- Clear and Concise communication skills
- Excel experience is helpful
- Microsoft Outlook
- Detail Oriented
- Self-Starter with the keen ability to complete their tasks in a timely manner.
