Renewable Properties is looking for a highly motivated Policy & Community Solar Analyst. The Policy & Community Solar Analyst is responsible for helping to identify, track, and strategize market entry plans for key energy markets across the US, as well as supporting the Community Solar (CS) aspect of RP's business by developing expertise in the various CS programs RP operates in, determining an optimal CS subscriber mix and strategy, and identifying, engaging, and managing subscriber partner companies in the markets RP is active in. The ideal candidate has the capacity to engage, follow, and help shape policy and regulatory issues related to renewable energy, as well as work on CS projects in various programs across the US. Interest or experience with Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) programs is highly encouraged. S/he must have entrepreneurial drive, a strong desire to deepen his/her understanding of the energy sector, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:

• Track key regulatory and policy developments related to solar and energy storage markets across the US.
• Identify and help shape new CS programs for RP to enter and engage.
• Gather market intelligence and continuously strive to be an industry leading thinker.
• Engage with and follow various trade associations, policy groups, and local stakeholders to identify market opportunities for the firm.
• Support development of strategic plans to enter new markets with clear theses and well thought out plans.
• Help set goals and timelines for success in existing and new markets.
• Assist with early business development efforts such as reaching out to potential customers, partners and other stakeholders as the firm pursues new campaigns and markets.
• Help author and deliver presentations and proposals especially in early campaigns.
• Aid development of optimal development and subscriber strategy to maximize RP success in the CS market.
• Identify, engage, and help manage various CS subscriber partner companies to assure target subscribers are obtained in a timely fashion.
• Support contract negotiation with subscriber partner companies and help shape template subscriber agreements.
• Assist project finance team in explaining programs and CS strategy to investors.
• Help build RP's understanding and participation with LMI components of CS programs.
• Manage and coordinate work efforts with other team members in an organized, flawless manner.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years' experience in policy, regulation, research on energy/environmental issues, or working on energy projects.
• Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve time-sensitive issues with precision.
• Ability to spot market trends early and develop working models to capitalize on an opportunity.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Basic policy and/or business development acumen, with a strong interest in developing a more sophisticated understanding of the environmental and utility regulatory environment.
• Rigorous attention to detail, work ethic, personal responsibility, work product ownership and organizational skills.
• Proven track record of success in navigating ambiguity and thriving in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
