Job description
Responsible for the hands-on leading and overseeing operations within the plant to support quality and deliverable timelines to customer specifications. Also, responsible to improve manufacturing operations by streamlining production with the use of automation technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and manage the daily operations in accordance with Ludlow Manufacturing stated values and policies while meeting quality, efficiency, and delivery objectives.
- Improve/streamline the process and flow of the production floor with automation, improved documentation, training, and attention to quality.
- Monitor, schedule and maintain preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Coordinate materials planning and availability with supply chain for improved product flow.
- Identify and implement new automation solutions using technology and manufacturing techniques to improve reduce manufacturing cost and improve product/process quality.
- Coordinate with management to execute a production schedule that ensures product is delivered by their committed dates.
- Monitor employee headcount for each department and adjust as needed. Coach and mentor direct reports.
- Review production and performance reports and schedules to direct resolution to operational problems, ensuring minimum costs and preventing delays.
- Ensure proper safety practices are properly followed, including necessary training and record keeping.
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues and recommend improvements as needed to meet all specified goals.
- Develop process work instructions to ensure quality and efficiency objectives are met.
- Coordinate and monitor vendor scheduling.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- Associate degree in Business, Mechanical, or in a related technical and/or equivalent field.
- Five to 10 years of management experience
- Five to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or related field.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to research special projects and recommend solutions
- Ability to manage multiple projects in efficient manner
- Analyze training requirements
- Ability to have good decision-making skills in high paced environment
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s in Science Degree in Business, Mechanical, or in a related technical and/or equivalent field.
- Project management skills or training
- Six sigma skills or training
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
