Primary Responsibility:
The maintenance technician is responsible for maintenance personnel to assure that machinery, grounds and buildings meet or exceed regulatory compliance, e.g. USDA, GMPs, OSHA, environmental et al.
Duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician include but are not limited to the following:
- Participates in the supervision and maintenance of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Maintenance Department personnel in day-to-day operation to ensure minimal downtime and costs.
- Determines work priorities, repairs, maintenance, tools and equipment in support of production operations.
- Works closely with other departments such as Production, Refrigeration and Quality Assurance in resolving maintenance-related issues.
- Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Excellent communication skills – oral and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Computer literate
- HACCP Certified
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45º +/- F)
- Ability to work in a humid and warm environment (90⁰ +/- F)
- Ability to stand for blocks of time as needed up to 8 hours per shift
- Exposure to noise (>85 decibels) and moving production lines
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairwells
