Job description
Summary:
The Pipeline Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining natural gas pipeline systems in accordance with the rules and regulations of PHMSA. The Pipeline Technician must have the ability to pass tests to become an Operator, performing many tasks on natural gas pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol natural gas pipelines
- Perform leak surveys using a flame ionization unit
- Inspect, test, and rebuild pressure regulators
- Operate, refill, and repair odorization equipment
- Inspect and maintain pipe valves
- Operate and maintain glycol bath heaters
- Test cathodic protection systems and identify corrosion issues
- Routine maintenance to grounds of pressure reducing/meter stations
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of prior experience operating natural gas pipeline facilities and equipment
- Prior experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs on pressure regulators, valves, compressors, and bath heaters
- Ability to travel
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
